2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Revtek 2 Inch Leveler Kit Install This is on a Third Generation Dodge 4x4. The kit basically is a set of spacers that mount on top of the coil springs. Takes a few hours to do. Alignment is a must as the caster angle change may induce the infamous Death Wobble. Longer shocks are also recommended. My stock shocks now "top" out on speedbumps and I did have the death wobble until I increased caster. Before Pic... The first step is to block the rear wheels and apply the emergency brake. Place jack stands just behind the axle links by jacking under the center of the front axle, to the left of the pumpkin (on the axle tube). ![]() Remove the wheels. At this point it's extremely important to remove certain components BEFORE lowering the axle with the floor jack. Remove both stabilizer bar links at the top... use a wrench below the bushing to minimize torque on the small ball joint. Remove (3) shock tower nuts from both sides and remove the lower shock mount bolts. Mark the springs for factory index re-install. Lower the axle taking care not to break the brake lines. Optionally you can unbolt the line retainer bracket but I was careful and didn't have a problem. Remove the springs. I found out later that I had to remove the track bar bolt because the right side would not drop low enough without removing it. Along with the springs comes a damper ring and a retainer ring. The retainer does not get re-used. Save it for possible return to stock configuration. ![]() ![]() ![]() Prepare the spacers by intalling the studs with locktite and slipping the dampers inside, between the spring and the spacers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Reinstall the springs at the original locations with the dampers and spacers loaded. ![]() ![]() Put it back together. Cut my hand trying to get the track bar bolt back in. Would be easier with two people. On Edit: You can move the steering wheel to align the track bar bolt holes. Much easier ![]() ![]() Removed the plastic valance.... I love the look. ![]() ![]() |
